USA State Tourney 2010 Information.

We have a block of rooms reserved for the state tournament in Rochester. Please make your arrangements ASAP by contacting the Doubletree Rochester Hotel (507-281-8000) and mentioning our club's reservation deal. Our rooms are being held at this rate only until February 19th, so please plan ahead! You will need to plan to arrive in Rochester on Friday, March 12th in the afternoon sometime. All kids weigh in late Friday afternoon/early evening. Wrestling starts Saturday AM and continues Sunday for those still alive in the tournament. We have a team dinner at the hotel on Friday and Saturday evening...more details to come on that.

PLEASE CONFIRM WITH JENNIFER WILSON IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND so we can make arrangements for the dinners and we also try to collect snacks, sandwiches and drinks for the group to have available as well.

Congratulations to all of the wrestlers who qualified at Zimmerman this past Saturday! We had a great showing! See the picture link for some great photos from this tournament.

The State Folkstyle Tournament is in Rochester March 12-14. You MUST pre-register to participate. You can register by mail (must be postmarked no later than March 6) or online (by March 7). To register online follow the MN/USA link on our website, and click on "Event Registration" on the left. The schedule for the weekend has changed from last year in that PeeWees and Bantams will start wrestling on Friday evening:

Friday March 12:

3-3:30 pm Peewee and Bantam weigh ins

5-8:00 pm Peewee and Bantam competition (per website, Peewees will complete their wrestling friday night, Bantams will resume on Saturday)

6-7:00 pm Intermediate Weigh ins

6:15-7:00 Novice Weigh ins

Schoolboys and Cadets will weigh in on Saturday. Bantams will complete wrestling on Saturday. Peewees and Bantams - consider the schedule when making your reservations to how many nights you want to stay in the hotel.

FYI: A few wrestlers will be wrestling in the MYAS Gopher State Championships in Monticello on Feb 13-14. Preregistration is required for this tournament by Feb 3. We do not have coaches going to this tournament. This is a competitive traditional bracket tournament much like the state tournament will be in Rochester. State Tournament - Make your reservations ASAP! Call the Doubletree in Rochester and mention the Rogers Wrestling block of rooms @ 507-281-8000. Let Jen Wilson know if you plan to be at the state tournament and how many are in your group.

Rogers Area Wrestling is a seven year old club dedicated to the sportsmanship and discipline of Folkstyle Wrestling. We are a tight knit club of athletes, coaches, and families who want to see Rogers Area Wrestling become a name recognized for wrestling greatness. We practice in a state of the art wrestling room at Rogers High School. Our coaches are well respected and experienced enough to teach children of all ages the sport of wrestling. We welcome children between Kindergarten and Eighth Grade of all sizes and experience. We also welcome the help of any parent who thinks he can learn to coach the sport the way we want to teach it.

We try to keep the schedule updated regularly. Please pay attention to handouts during practice and directions from the head coach for changes that might not have been on the schedule.

We will list tournaments that the coaches will be attending. This list is subject to change at anytime.
